Exeter Bach Society: Home

The Exeter Bach Society is an SATB choir based in central Exeter, Devon, specialising in the choral works of Johann Sebastian Bach. We give two or three full-length concerts per year, usually with orchestral support, with additional recitals of Bach’s Cantatas at local churches.  The cantata services, accompanied by the society’s orchestra, are followed by a special event comprising a recital or a talk usually connected in some way with J S Bach or the Baroque period.  We also run an annual choral workshop with conductors of national repute.

Recent performances have included a summer concert of varied music at the University of Exeter Chapel, Bach’s Cantata 41 at Exeter Cathedral, Bach’s Mass in B Minor, and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio in December 2015.

Our current musical director, Jonathan Lucas Wood, joins the society in September 2016.

If you are interested in joining the choir please go to the ‘Join Us’ page and we shall be pleased to hear from you.
